Kult Of Taurus 2014 Interview

1. Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the last time we talked?
1.Well,many things that were important for the band to be "shaped" and to serve it's purpose as it should. In 2011 our former drummer C.T. who contributed in our demo and the split release left the band which was a "step-back" for us since we had already began working with him for this album. We went through the usual searching process and finally nodens(Prometheus,Lord Impaler,North gate) took the challenge to record the drums and you can hear the result in this album. We are more than satisfied for his contribution,he did an amazing job as any serious musician should!Still,he could not continue as a full-member within the band for his personal reasons and now Hellscum is on drumming duties. In addition Bile joined as a second guitarist
so at least for now the line-up is stable and the new members contribute their fullest.

2.You recently put out a new album which sounds a lot more different than the last one I have reviewed, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical sound of the new album and the progression you have made during the last 5 years?
2.Divination Labyrinths is no ordinary album. We understood that when the first songs started to appear in 2010. We knew we had some powerful material and thus we knew that nothing should be left in chance. We recorded many times and all got thrown away until it could satisfy us.The same process went also for the album cover which was very important for us to carry the feeling of the album and represent it 100%.Later I decided to send an email to Vicotnik and see if he would like to produce our album(again,no ordinary choice) and he accepted.
We spend a lot of nights talking through emails about how the album should sound, and what we want to achieve. He is one of the most passionate and dedicated musicians I've ever had the chance to meet.In everything he does he offers his 120%.One can hear his presence in this album.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored with your newer release and what are some of the changes you have made as a songwriter?
3.I think my nature was always a more spiritual and philosophical one. Doubts about life and existence were always high since my early age. So,constant reading,thinking/questioning(this word sounds alien in this age I know) and searching/examine could do nothing less than awake my promethean black flame and change the course of my existence. So at the point
I was writing the lyrics for Divination Labyrinths,I had already gained my first experiences from the books I was into at that time."Where No Moon Rises" for example is a very important song for those who understand in many ways.I turned my back to the illusional reality(The light that divides the earth,ÐÔÙÓÇ) and descented inwards to ascend upwards!A very special
album indeed!A symbol of change! For to live is to change! Hail Lucifer! Hail his essence!

4.In the email you sent me, you said something a bout a spiritual growth since the last album can you tell us a little bit more about yet?

4.The above answer covers this as well.No need to say more.

5.I remembered the last time we talked you said you had only done one show back then, have you had the chance to do any live shows since then and improve your stage performance?
5.A live show is something very serious at least for us.In my opinion you can not treat such an important matter like "fun" and insert limiting behaviours for beer-drinkers/non-thinkers.You need to present your work to the fullest and you can only do that when you feel like you can which is NOT all the time. With this being said we have only done 2 shows(since 2009),one supporting Rotting Christ in 2011 and another in 2013 as headliners.Experience earned in both cases, negative and positive!

6.The new album came out on Forever Plagued Records, how did you get in contact with this label and how would you describe the support they have given you so far?
.Nothing unusual,I just send promos to labels I thought we would fit best and we came to an agreement with FPR. A very respected label in underground circles and a serious one. They respect us and treat our material with care!

7.A few years back you did a split album with Stenhos, what are your thoughts on the other band that had participated on that album?
7.Well Sthenos was an one-man band with whom we shared some similar experiences and decided to make a split release. He produced the split and we still like the atmosphere that it did create in both bands. It was released in a limited number of tapes by wulfrune worxxx.I am not aware of how it was perceived by listeners though.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to the progression of your new album by fans of black metal?

8.It is still very early to say.It is not our highest concern.

9.What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
9.The honest direction.Kult Of Taurus has never stopped creating, rehearsing and evolving. We are dedicated to our cause. Free from limitations.Towards chaos! Hail sophia! Hail Tehom!

10.Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

10.Thank you for your interest in our music and for spreading our word again! Ave victoria!
