The Furor are a band from Australia that has been featured before in this zine and plays a mixture of war, black, death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Cavalries Of The Occult" which will be released in 2017 by Transcending Obscurity Records.
Horror movie style keyboards start off the album along with some black metal screams in the background before going into more of a fast and chaotic war metal direction which also uses a great amount of blast beats and the solos and leads are very dark and chaotic style and the music also has elements of death metal.
At times the riffs get very melodic and growls are also added into some parts of the songs and throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts an d some of the tracks are very long and epic in length while also mixing in a great amount of thrash influences and the fast riffs also use a decent amount of tremolo picking which also gives the songs more of a raw black metal feeling and atmospheric sounds are also added into some of the heavier sections of the songs as the album progresses.
The Furor creates another recording that remains true to the war, black, death and thrash metal mixture of previous releases, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover occult, war, and Armageddon themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from The Furor and if you are a fan of war, black, death and thrash metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cavalries Of The Occult" "Storm Of Swords" and "Fomes Peccati". 8 out of 10.
